Bonnie and Kristen go to the Bahamas

Kristen and I went to the Grand Bahama Island over Thanksgiving this year. It was the first time I got to get away and first time out of the USA...it was awesome...and we will do it again, where we will go next time, we aren't sure yet, but this trip was the first of more to come!!!!

Classmates from John Adams Jr. High

Some of us went to different schools before high school. These are some classmates that went to junior high with me as well as high school. So we went way back...some even went to grade school and we took pics of the different groups at the reunion. I am standing next to Ronnie Capodanno. We used to shoot pool together in my basement in 7th and 8th grade!!!!

Bonnie, Chris and Jeanne at Novita's

The weekend of Nov.6-8, 2009 was our 40th class reunion, held at the Sheraton Hotel in Newark, NJ. I had to go. It had been 40 years since seeing all of my classmates, and it was the best time I have had in a long time....I loved seeing everyone and it was so fun just being able to be ourselves. We all reconnected and pulled together to have a great time...This picture was taken at Novita's in Metuchen, NJ. Chris, in white, was on Color Guard with me (I was co-captain with Sharon W) , and Jeanne, in pink, was captain of the twirlers.

On Mother's Day

Mother's Day

I think this was the best Mother's Day one could ask for. My children were all unique in how they honored me today. Each one's personality came out true and clear....Kristen called a local Produce/Flower Market and ordered me 2 beautiful hanging baskets of Pink Geraniums, which I adore. Andrew called me from Berlin,Germany and we talked for almost a half hour. He posted a lovely quote on being a mother on facebook, and found the most interesting and fun Mr. T song about being true to your mother on YouTube. Zach bought and cooked me a steak dinner, with oven roasted potatoes, broccoli with hollandaise sauce, and cheese bread.
Jim bought me a couple flower hanging baskets, one of which brought tears to my eyes....it is called Purple Cleopatra, and in memory of my Weim Cleo who passed last October. I had to use it as my picture for my page. The other basket is a deep purple wave Petunia.
Dad gave me a $100 dollar bill!
Perfect day, and thank you all who shared their love with me....I love you all.

Lily's First AKC Dog Show

When I entered Lily in the Columbia Kennel Club sponsored dog show, I had only the expectation that it would be an experience for her, but in my heart and gut had a feeling to do this...even though some others thought she wasn't ready. Well, having been to one prior and letting her listen to the sounds must have done some good. Taking her out and socializing her and working her in Orscheln's when no one is in the store, must have helped, too.
She won best in her class and won Winner's Bitch, over two bitches that were older than her. She won her first point!!!!! Was I surprised, or what? I started to cry!!!!
Here she is....Kind of like that Hollywood star, Gina Lola Brigitta!!!!!!

Edison High School Class of '69

If you happened to look at my blog, be sure to go to some of the older posts too. It tells how long I have been talking to myself!!! My dear classmates, it's so nice to reconnect with some of you on Facebook after all these years. Our lives' stories amaze me and it intrigues me to see if more of us will come out of the woodwork.
I am looking forward to keeping these contacts; life with you for those years was too short...let's keep the ball rolling!!!!

Nothing Like Nature

For some reason I have a liking for trees and birds, whose homes are in trees....sometimes. This tree didn't have any birds or nests, but was bare naked in the snow. SO beautiful.

Ava Adeline

I forgot to add this picture on January 1, 2009. Ava was posing for the camera!!!!

She is such a doll! Darling baby, too. I just saw her this past weekend and gave her a bath and rocked her with her bottle. When she was done, she immediately put her left thumb in her mouth and was fast asleep!
This evening we got on Skype and saw Kristen and Ava and Great Grandpop was in awe when he was able to see his granddaughter and great granddaughter as if they were in the same room...he thought that was pretty neat. Technology and Family go together!!!

Edison High Class of 1969

Well, here it is February 4, 2009 and it has been 40 years since graduating from high school...Does that sound crazy or what??? I have room to think that no one knows where I am, so I won't here about any Class Reunion. I am not sure we would all recognize each other anyway, but it would be nice to see some of my old pals....I would name a few I have seen on reunion.com but some others may be offended. I am anticipating someone to email before long...Or is this a wish?

Wild Turkeys, Can you believe your Eyes?

That is right! What you are seeing is a flock of wild turkeys in my yard. They came in one day and I saw them as I was about to let the dogs outside from the garage. Undoubtedly, I stopped short in my tracks and quietly took the dogs back into the house and called Kristen, who was visiting at the time, to get the camera.... It was great to see them...and they finally made their way back into the woods.
The dogs did have fun with trying to find them once we let them out, but they didn't come back with a catch!

Twilight Stargazer Lily Dove

I have a new female Weimaraner pup who is now 4 1/2 months old. I guess I need to introduce her formally. I just wasn't ready, I guess until now. Her AKC name is a long one and kind of like a Wheel of Fortune name, ha. We call her Lily. I named her this because I love stargazer lillies and she is always up at twilight and the color of a dove...

She has been keeping me busy and is now 36lbs. She is halfway grown!!! When I got her she was so little and couldn't even get up the stairs. Now she is jumping all over the place and chasing Sherlock, keeping up with the big dog!!!(almost, he can outrun her when he wants to!!)

It is nice to have him active again, he was being too much of a couch potato. And I have had more exercise as well with walking Lily and playing fetch with her. She has learned quickly. She loves the outdoors. Because she was born outside and in a barn in August, and stayed outdoors all the time, she loves outside. But don't get me wrong, she loves inside too, and her comfy hoodies, sweaters and nightshirts!

I have been lucky so far with the weather...We have had no snow yet to mention, just a flurry or two and maybe one day with some on the ground so we can get out every day, except in rainy weather....she isn't too wild about the rain!

I am planning on joining a local Kennel Club and participating in some AKC events. It will give us a good family activity and Lily just may enjoy it too. She has Champions in her bloodline, so wish us luck.

Sunshine came softly upon my window today.......

It was a cold and dreary day today, but alas, I did see some sun....
It amazes me that I have to do things to keep my mind busy so I don't miss being outside in nice weather. So busy bee "me" has to make blankets and wash dog toys....burn pictures to CD's. I guess we have to make hay while the sun shines...and keep sunshine in our minds and hearts.
