Magnolia Tree

Ah, the beauty of spring...blooming trees and rush of leaves
a quiet hush
then from neath the brush
a rabbit or two
hip hop and doo doo.
Up comes the wind
fiercely recind
the warmth and the light
returns to night.
Cold rushes in 
the withers begin
then suddenly strikes
the sun with its spikes
of heat and sweat
your brow is wet.
The blooms they fade
only to be made
shrivels on the grass.

Dad before he passes 2014

I realize I haven't been good about keeping my blog current. Many things have kept me focused on important issues. Nevertheless, I am now updating. First of all my Dad is now in the Veterans Home and needless to say, I am the one who visits frequently. His Alzheimer's and dementia has worsened, although his short term memory and hearing are not good he is still knows me as soon as he sees me. I try to go to take him to lunch in the main dining hall, play bingo, or 5 card draw poker with him. I just took him some new clothes including a new Cardinals shirt. He likes baseball as much as I do! Go Cards!!!
