Dad before he passes 2014

I realize I haven't been good about keeping my blog current. Many things have kept me focused on important issues. Nevertheless, I am now updating. First of all my Dad is now in the Veterans Home and needless to say, I am the one who visits frequently. His Alzheimer's and dementia has worsened, although his short term memory and hearing are not good he is still knows me as soon as he sees me. I try to go to take him to lunch in the main dining hall, play bingo, or 5 card draw poker with him. I just took him some new clothes including a new Cardinals shirt. He likes baseball as much as I do! Go Cards!!!

Trip to Mexico and the BPM Music Festival 2012

My trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico was centered around the BPM Music Festival. My son Andrew, aka DJ Butane played at La Santanera on New Years Eve. Many of his friends made it down to Playa del Carmen that week of Jan 1-8. Mindy and I arrived on Jan. 4. We stayed at The Reef Playacar. And let me say, it was the best resort that I have been to so far, of course, this was only my second time to Mexico in the area of Playa del Carmen. But I would definitely stay there again.
As evidenced by the photos, you will see the beauty of this tropical paradise. The BPM features many DJ's and they play at beaches and in the clubs of Playa del Carmen. We had fun and relaxed in the sun...and met some very interesting people.

My daughter Kristen, her husband Pat, my grandchildren Ava and Parker came on Christmas day. We had a huge dinner and enjoyed each others company.

Parker's visit on Mother's Day

My grandson, Parker. He is adorable. I loved rocking him to sleep on Mother's Day, what a special time, to hold a 4 week old and rock him, holding that precious baby so close to my heart for a few hours, watching him sleep. It is a feeling you can never forget. Bless you Parker, I am thrilled that you have come into my life.

New grandson Parker born April 7, 2011

"Parker" He was born at 11:44 am on Thursday April 7, 2011. He weighed 7 lbs, 13 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long. What a handsome boy, with perfect features....so precious. His big sister Ava is pretty proud to have a baby brother. So now Nana has 2 grandchildren. Thank you Kristen for being such a good Mommy. I love you, and am so proud of you!!

Berlin to see Andrew 2010, and on to Amsterdam and Paris Together

My son Andrew surprised me and gave me a ticket to fly to Berlin via Toronto and Copenhagen. He planned a trip for us to go to Amsterdam and Paris together after seeing Berlin!!!
He was graciously awaiting my arrival on Sept. 19 as I got to Berlin ...that morning we both had tears in our eyes because I actually made it, all by myself, to Berlin where he lives ! We spent the next two days in Berlin, him being my tour guide, taking me to some of the most historic places in Berlin. Among them, the remains of the Berlin Wall, the great Cathedral, and the Holocaust Memorial. We also went to the famous Ka De We, where we ate and shopped on the 9 floors of this huge and famous department store.
